Foundations in Adolescent Healthcare
A dynamic module for professionals working with young people
Adolescence is a time of extraordinary growth, challenge, and possibility. This immersive course explores how identity, development, relationships, and social environments shape young people’s experiences—and how healthcare professionals can deliver truly adolescent centred care.
You’ll critically analyse the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and cultural dimensions of adolescence. Through real world scenarios, expert-led discussions, virtual simulation, patient voices, and reflective learning, you will gain the confidence and insight to support young people in ways that honour autonomy, complexity, and the diverse identities they hold.
This course will be delivered virtually using a mix of live webinars and online activities.
What you will gain
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
Understand adolescent development and how it affects adolescents and their relationships.
Critically analyse care delivered to adolescents within healthcare settings.
Critically evaluate how law and ethics influence decision-making in adolescent care.
